In order to strengthen cooperation with private parties from major partner countries, on September 1, 2022, Deputy for Coordination of International Economic Cooperation, Edi Prio Pambudi represented the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Airlangga Hartarto at the Meeting with the European Union-ASEAN Business Council (EU-ABC) Business Delegation led by EU-ABC Vice Chairman Tassilo Brinzer at the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs Office.
The meeting with the EU-ABC Business Delegation aims to discuss several matters related to Indonesia's G20 Presidency, Indonesia Chairmanship in ASEAN in 2023, efforts to recover the post-pandemic economy, structural reforms through the Job Creation Law, low carbon economy, downstream nickel industry commodities, to accelerate the completion of the Indonesia European Union Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (IEU-CEPA) negotiations.
On the occasion, the EU-ABC Delegation supported the acceleration of the settlement of the IEU-CEPA negotiations. EU-ABC also stated that it is ready to help improve the investment and business climate in Indonesia. In addition, EU-ABC also expressed interest in working together on the issue of climate change in Indonesia.
At the meeting, Deputy for Coordination of International Economic Cooperation, Edi Prio Pambudi, who is also the Co-Sherpa of G20 Indonesia, also invited the private sector who are members of the EU-ABC to participate and cooperate in producing concrete deliverables of the G20 Presidency of Indonesia.
